The Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’, Coreopsis verticillata, is a perky little prolific bloomer. It has a bonanza of bright yellow flowers that bloom from June through October.
Winner of the 2001 RHS Award of Garden Merit, Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’ is a little shorter than the rest of the Coreopsis family. Meaning you can always fit one or two into your garden!
‘Zagreb’ should be planted in full sun and looks great along walkways, in rock gardens and perennial beds. It is drought-tolerant and tough, but does need well-drained soil. It should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period.
Coreopsis Zagreb looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. It is very effective in naturalized areas, cottage gardens or wild gardens. No garden should be without it and with its diminutive size, you’ll easily find a place for it.
